Race 1:
A thrilling start as Webster and Tnadz clambered for position to try and keep Egg in their sights. In the back, Zolecki was mixing it up with backmarkers after a booched qualy attempt.
While he managed to recover, a screen freeze and then a stop just inside turn one put him in harm's way as he was sent to the moon and well down the order.
Action at the front was intense when The Egg went for a move up the inside. Caruso tucked into Tnadz and all 3 made contact at the same time.
There was much chaos but little damage and the racing continued.
However, after The Egg generously redressed, he was blasted and fell far behind, yielding the win to Tnadz as he pulled up a second. Zack managed to keep things together through the maelstrom and held out a top 5.
Race 2:
Another wild start as Mostert took Tnadz off into the sandtrap at T1. Zolecki and Webster had an edgy encounter with the backmarkers as yet more knackered qualy runs put them down the order.
Ahead of them, the Tnadz incident cascaded into a parkinglot of peril on T1 exit and GB scampered away towards the front. Webster was also in prime position and jumped up the field with Tnadz close in tow.
Around midway of the first stint, disaster struck as The Bear was walled by David Wall and made contact with Gheebuttersnaps while trying to rejoin.
GB had mostly a harmless spin but then started the process of getting progressively railed. Finally, he was killed outright by the other Pepsi car.
That circus, along with continued wrecks with The Bear, caused a conga line to form and Webster happily jumped up the order. Though, his trajectory sent him sideways into the Red Bull cars and all those positions were quickly lost.
But with the field collapsed, he was in fighting position. And fight he did as he swerved around even more wrecks until Reynolds send him upside down and then back on his wheels where he began an aggressive elbows-out charge back up.
He was barely outside the top 5 at the line with Tnadz taking the win over Egg who retired with a slightly warm engine.
On to a new course for the group: Eastern Creek in Sydney.
