Twisted Metal Tour - Grid Iron Division 2015

This series will be run with the IROC mod, using the old school Firebirds with the TMT roster.  Here's how it breaks down:

The Draft
Each of us, starting with the worst placing driver from this last series to the best, will go round-robin selecting 2 NFL teams and 1 NCAA team.  A driver may choose any car as long as it has not already been picked and when selecting the NFL team, they must declare if it will be the car they are driving.  Once the driving team has been selected, it can not be changed.

Race Weekend
Cautions: Off; Weather: Realistic; Damage: R1-None(Full on some tracks), R2-Moderate(Full on some tracks), R3-Full

Each Race Weekend will consist of two races at a single track.  Here are the time tables:

19:00-19:45 = Practice
19:45-19:50 = Qualifying (where applicable, otherwise extended practice)
19:50-20:00 = Happy Hour
20:00~20:20 = Race 1
20:20-20:25 = Qualifying (where applicable)
20:25~20:40 = Race 2
20:40-20:45 = Qualifying (where applicable)
20:45~21:00 = Race 3

Points
Each race will have a standard set of points for finishing positions:

1: 7
2: 6
3: 5
4: 4
5: 4
6-10: 3
11-20: 2
21-43: 1
DNF: 0 (all bonuses are still retained)

Here's a quick bonus breakdown which will be explained in more detail below.
Bonus Points

Player AI
Lap Lead 1 2
Most Laps Lead 1 2
Heart Breaker 1 2
Diehard Racer 1 2
Top 5 1
AI teammate 1st 5/7/10
AI teammate 2nd 4/5/8
AI teammate 3rd 3/4/5
AI 1st in season 50
AI 2nd in season 25
AI 3rd in season 10
Best NFL season finisher 30
2nd best NFL finisher 20
Best NCAA finisher 10

Award Points
1 per Award (Lap Lead, Most Laps, heart breaker, etc) - 2 for AI
AI also receive a bonus point for a top 5 finish

In addition to these points, your AI teammates can earn additional points for you.
AI Teammate Bonus

1st-5/7/10  (race 1/race 2/race 3)
2nd-4/5/8
3rd-34/5

Boat Anchor Bonus:  All the members of the last place team at the end of each weekend will receive 3 bonus points each.

Ballast Points
If a player finishes in the top 3, they may only score a maximum of 4 position points in the subsequent race for that track, regardless of placement.  (Failing to score in the top 3 will allow for regular position scoring i.e. "resetting the ballast")

End of Season Bonuses:
After the last race, AI Teammates earn bonus points for their players based on final standings:
- Highest placing NFL AI = 30
- 2nd Highest = 20
- Highest placing NCAA = 10
Bonus of 50 points for 1st AI overall, 25 for 2nd and 10 for 3rd
And, yes, these points can be combined (Ex: Your NFL AI finishes 2nd in the series and is best overall (25+30).  This is then added to your score for a last chance run at taking the series).

In the case of ties, bonus points will be awarded to all who tied.

Rules and Strategy
- AI will not be punished for "Cheating" or cutting corners, however, players may be docked points and/or DQed for the race if they are caught.
- Regular black flags will apply.  I will attempt to clear those if penalties are unclear or out of driver's hands.
- No restarts will be given except in cases of technical problems
- Players may be as destructive as they wish, to whomever they wish.  This includes strategies like sitting and waiting on the track to take out an opponent.  However, causing excessive disruption prior to the start will be grounds for disciplinary action.
- I may revise these rules or points at any time during the championship in the interest of competition (Jr/France rule)
- A team effort can net more points than just scoring well.

Missed Races
When a player misses a race, their car will be controlled by an AI.  The stand-in (avatar) will score points as a human would.

Wild Card
On the 3rd and 6th race, a Wild Card round will be held.  During the wild card, two drivers are randomly selected from the field and compete head to head.  The lowest ranking driver at the time of the draw has a chance to swap ranks with the other driver while the higher ranking driver can score 5 bonus points and keep their position.  If the drivers are tied at the draw, a the second driver is drawn again.  The driver who scores the most points for the 3 races (race weekend) will be declared the winner for that Wild Card round (accrued bonuses included).  Should the lower ranking driver pass the higher ranked driver by the end of the race weekend, they will instead take 5 bonus points.  A special note, at least one of the drivers will ALWAYS be an actual player.  If the player chosen is not in attendance, their avatar will score in their place.  In the case of a tie, positions are not swapped and no bonus points are awarded.

Team Wild Card
On the 9th and 12th race, a Team Wild Card round will be held.  This is the same as the regular Wild Card except two humans are chosen at random and each player's team is involved.  The team with the most awards at the end of the three races is declared the winner.  All racers on the winning team shall receive 5 bonus points AND their lowest ranked driver will swap places with the losing team's highest ranked driver (switch applies before 5 point bonus and only if the lower ranked driver was still lower in the standings at weekend's end).  In the event of a tie, each team's lowest ranking driver (at the time of the draw) shall have their weekend points compared to determine the winning team.  Should this still result in a tie, the second highest ranked drivers will be compared and so on.  In the rare event that there is still no discernible winner, no Team Wild Card bonuses shall be awarded for the race weekend.

Nascar Sprint Cup Championship 2014 - 36 Homestead

To be honest, I'm not happy with that finish.  Mostly because I didn't win.  Do I sound like a NASCAR driver?

Here's how it went down:
Qualifying had me and Sandy up in 4th and 6th for the start.  Chad 11th and Scot 18th.  Darrel was out for the race.  He couldn't watch...

One mulligan and we got it right...

For a lap or two.  Sandy had to throw it into the wall to keep off of some other idiots.

Coming to the line, Paul Menard caught Scot and spun him around.

Business as usual.

15 laps in, Scot found Danica Patrick.

It was an awkward pit window with half the field in, the other half out.

On the restart at lap 20, My car was uber tight into the turn which then got me loose as I came off and I was in the back of the field.

Chad took out Keselowski on our way back to the line.

We had another long stretch of green after that.  I was battling harder than ever threw what felt like the Great Firewall of China.  Scot and Sandy laid in wait to see what would happen of the next several laps.

Meanwhile, Chad was keeping a fine pace up in 2nd.

Almost halfway through, my car got tight again and did the exact same stunt as before, flinging me back into the wall.  I had made it all the way up to 12th.

About a dozen laps latter, Sandy got wide out of 2 and struck the wall.

He was rejoining the racing line as a thirty-something careened on by.

Sandy then went for a spin.

Chad and I had fallen to the teens as Scot and Sandy continued to keep on eye on things from the back.

Scot grew impatient with Almendinger and brought out another caution.

Coming to the line, old Kese-fucktard decided he needed to hang out with me.  This was the crushing blow that did me in, ruining my car completely for any decent finish.

Closing in on the final laps, Scot punted Cassill

Sandy just narrowly avoided him with no more than a scratch from the wall.

Adding insult to injury, my system locked while going under caution and I barreled right into Menard.  Nope, couldn't go out without trading brightly colored paint with that asshole.

We had one green flag lap left and Scot was really putting on a clinic.

Sandy was getting pretty damn good at avoid these wrecks.  He will be a master in the next series.

Chad ended up placing the best out of the humans.

I was behind him with a miserable 21st.  The finish set me back to 3rd for the series.  After winning 17 races.  Ain't it something?

And the worst of the worst new.  Jr Nation gets to guzzle down its garbage, piss-water soda in celebration of his ill-deserved win.  He placed 6th ahead of Bowyer, me, and Kenseth, who went out from brake failure.

I'll post final results and send out an update for the next series.  It's gonna be good.

Nascar Sprint Cup Championship 2014 - 35 Phoenix

The final race is upon us after some good driving in Phoenix.  After qualifying and practice, we decided to up the laps as a group yet still finished at about 8:45pm.  We're obviously getting better with our caution management.

Even though we had to requalify, things didn't change much except Scot was up at the front and Chad dropped two to 20th.  A clean start and no mulligans were used.

About 4 laps in, Chad got clipped at the dog leg by wife-beater.

He recovered from that incident only to be slammed by Newman.

If that weren't enough, Patrick and Stenhouse ran their cars into the wall and ran right up on Chad.  While Stenhouse Jr didn't clip him, Danica didn't care.

A handful of laps after the green, Chad got hit by Dillon.  What an ass.

Nearing the halfway point, Scot was run wide by Stewart.

Scot saved the car but in doing so brought himself back down in the racing line in front of Kenseth who had no regard for his safety.

The resulting crash was of Scot proportions.

And caused a big ol' bottle neck on the front stretch.

The next yellow was about 3/4 through between Chad and Trevor Bayne.

Chad's ride gave up the ghost yet Trevor continued on.

On that restart, Scot was a lap down from repairing damage and ran over Landon Cassill.

A few more cars out and massive congestion on the front stretch.

Despite an amazing team effort and driving skill by Mad Max, his car could no longer carry on, burdened by the damage it suffered and died with 10 to go.

Darrel and I took a 2-1 finish for the night, with me slamming the wall off of four and destroying myself in style.

And others joined in.  Sandy managed to get a top 25, although he will be hunting a certain Joey Logano for revenge.

The final race at Homestead is next week and I have a new track for us to try.  I'll send it on out.
