British World Touring Car Championship 2013 - 28-30 Monza

Well, we made it to the Boot to kick off the 10th venue of the series in Monza.  Scot is out until next week on "business" and there was sadly no sign of Chad.  Darrel, Sandy, and I continued on.

Race 1: Darrel and I got to qualify at the front and that's where we stayed the whole race.  I had a very clean race while Darrel had some trouble with traction and spun a few times.  But he held the position to the end.  The real head turner was Sandy who blew through the field like a fire through Colorado finishing 8th after a heated battle with Muller coming to the line.

Race 2: Disaster early on as Darrel passed inside before the line earning the black flag.  Still, after pitting twice to clear it, he finally made up ground and pulled a 17th.  Sandy was running up through the field again and suddenly dropped out...Windows crapped out.  A DNS sadly.  I managed to pull through and take a win.

Race 3: The three humans were ready for action.  Darrel had the pole, Sandy in the middle, me at the back.   Sandy was experiencing starter problems and had a rough attack on the field.  I caught quickly in time to see him take out another driver (mostly not his fault) and barely avoided him going into one...only to spin.  Fortunately I pulled out of it and caught Sandy coming to the last corner and almost wrecked each other again.  During all this, Darrel was running 1st and got blasted by Thompson going through the complex and rode the wall.  He was slammed three times before finally getting to drive again.  But he made it back up to 12th and would have challenged for 11th, but he did not have the car.  Sandy, however, did have the car and stayed steady all the way to 2nd place which he held to the end.  This would be his best finish of the season at the best track he's had, averaging 5th.  You almost wonder what could have been had he not dropped out in the second race.

On to the monster of Saudi Arabi.  The F1 track in the desert: Bahrain.  While I thought Spa was more difficult, I have to say this one is probably a 9 if not another 10.
