The finale came and went on the shortest track of the series.  Not even touching a mile long, it was fast and furious and a bit tricky despite its size.  Australia proved to be a fantastic place to wrap up and it came down to the final two races to decide the championship.  In Race 1, the points leaders managed to close down on each other at the pointy end of the field.  Zolecki pushed to 2nd after a costly mistake at the final turn by Smith.  Tnadz kept up the pressure but lots of debris kept littering the track from the 008 car.  Meanwhile, Jaime was running down The Egg who looked like he had it all wrapped up by the end.  But he took a page out of Tnadz's book and booched it on the final lap going through the essess and handing the win to Zolecki.  Gut Slab had a good showing with a podium qualifying run along with Hamilton and The Bear had one of his best finishes of the series.

Race 2 didn't go so well for either Jaime or Ross who were both wrecked out early.  The only thing that could have lost The Egg the championship now would be a devastating DNF.  It almost looked that was going to be the case while he and Zack were jockying for position.  The Egg had pulled ahead by a few seconds when he became entangled with one of the Seats, earning some heavy damage and yielding the spot to Webster.  Zack then pushed his car to the limit and finally found himself in second place coming to the penultimate lap.  After a failed attempt to make a pass stick, he tried to get close going into turn one but his tires were too hot to handle and he had to limp home in second.  The Bear didn't have as good of a finish, though still in the low 20's and he managed to only lose a few spots from his strong qualifying.

In the end, it was The Egg who took the series by holding on to a top ten in Race 2 and winning by 18 points (the spread was almost 600 points).  Well done.

Shorties RC 2019: 29-30 Oulton Park Fosters

A serious set of races at the penultimate track of the series, Oulton Park "Fosters".  Race 1 saw Zolecki ride to victory from an uncontested pole position.  The Egg and Smith were fighting through traffic when Tnadz went off early on, falling back to the tail end.  By the end of the race, all three had pulled up to the podium with The Bear taking first in his class.

Race 2 was more exciting with the three class A heavy hitters starting in the back together.  Passes were fairly clean and calculated as they cut through traffic.  All of a sudden, Zolecki was looking to swing for a pass on The Egg when he sent him off into the wall.  Much blame was laid on net lag but no one could say for certain.  Tnadz managed to hold onto first through the pit stops and got a small gap thanks to two tires.  But after losing 5th gear, he started to backslide.  On the second to last lap, Tnadz caught up to the wounded Egg and misjudged his positioning while going down Cascades, sending the pair off track and giving another win to Zoleckli.

Points are close between the top two and even Jamie may have a chance to close the gap if all things fall his way.
