Pot Luck 2019: 12-13 Red Rock

A true classic from early days of NR. Sandy's pick ran for two mini enduros that had some very exciting races and finishes along with spectacular crashes.

Race 1:

Early disaster for Egg as he represented Myer in the Brazzers ride.  Loose on the start made for a rough going for the rest of the race.

Webster and Hamilton had a close shave with a giant wreck going into the big dipper corner.

Although Zack did manage to lose it coming away from the scene.  While he did a perfect 360, his car wasn't the same the rest of the race and he'd wind up 13.  Not bad.

At the front, the three leading humans were having a vicious back and forth for first.  It was mostly Zolecki and Smith when The Bear pulled a slingshot on the outside.

Meanwhile, Hamilton had a moment around Egg, collecting him as he lost it over the crest, nearly wrecking Slab in the process with Webster not far from the maelstrom.

Back at the front, Zolecki was leading when his engine just let go.  A sad end to what was shaping up to be a great battle to the end.

In the end, Tnadz barely held off The Bear by a second to the win.

Race 2:

The front of the second run was filled with humans juking and jiving for position.

The first casualty was Zolecki who seems to be cursed by the Pot Luck gods.  He got light coming over the ridge on the run to 2.

He nearly had it gathered it up again when it just barely swung back...right into traffic.

Everyone went evasive with Tnadz throwing it down the inside and off the wall to avoid the 8's smoldering husk.

Hamilton suffered a similar fate after taking a comfortable lead, spinning off the dipper.

A lap later, Zack mimicked the wreck, giving The Egg the lead.

But just before the pit stop, Smith made the pass and only just recovered it at the end of the race from some battling AI.

Again, Gut Slab has summoned the powers of AVUS; arguably one of Germany's most fatal race tracks.  As simple as the layout is, the races were anything but.

Race 1:

Zolecki and Webster were drag racing into the hairpin on the first of thirteen laps.  Hamilton was close behind and then got real close to Zack's behind, sending him into the wall.  Webster would end up wrecking off his favorite kink with Darrel getting hip checked off the Death Turn into oblivion.

Smith had a chance at a podium when he got tangled up in some of the field.  He wasn't dead but well down the order.

With relatively few issues but some very close calls, Jaime took an easy win.

Race 2:

Tnadz broke away early but was reeled in on lap two and hip checked by Rahmul right into the hay bale barrier.  Instant death.

Hamilton's engine died after running decently for a while.  The Egg had issues early and died dramatically as did Slab.  Zolecki was gone before the first turn and Webster didn't finish his first lap either.

In the end, only a very busted Magnum car of Sandy Smith limped home as the only non-DNF human.  A sad end.

But his pick for next track is inspiring: Red Rock.
