So I took a win but it was a hollow victory. We got halfway through and HP decided it was a perfect chance to advertise an update. Sadly I couldn't restore the window. At the time, there had been several acts of craziness, mostly by the AI. Scot was up the field a ways while Darrel and I had issues with synchronized spinning out of 2. Sandy was deep in the mix but still in it while Chad had ruined his car practicing somersaults. The AI were nuts. They were wrecking us on the starts, under yellow, everywhere. But at the halfway mark, I was in last, positioned to come back through the field when most of it was caught wrecking. Darrel was right there with me and then the screen went out.
Take 2, we shortened the race to 20 laps and pretty much qualified the same, 4 humans top 10 with Scot opting for a view from the back. It paid off, he settled into 16th at the end with too many caution laps to advance more. Chad ran up to 21st, better than the DNF he would have had. Sandy and Darrel were hurt the worst as they didn't have an opportunity to show off their cars. Darrel got loose and there just wasn't enough race left to rectify his loss. I took the win, but it wasn't as sweet as if I had come back from that spin. Also, Leffler and Edwards benefited big time because they were out in the first round, they were 2 and 3 in the second.
On to Daytona where things are a little more settled.
