Despite technical difficulties and some minor glitches, we managed to pull off a relatively successful race weekend. Odie was incommunicado thanks to Tunngle's evil ways, but he got past that. What he didn't get past was the spotty internet connection which caused him to be in a pile of cars without knowing it...until the connection re-established itself. But with Tunngle's problems behind us, perhaps that issue will resolve itself. Otherwise he may need to go to Lowes and get some ethernet cable to run through the house, maybe some more board too.
Race 1: Good start with Chad, Scot, Darrel and myself right at the front. Some cautions early on as Sandy bounced through the field (or got passed illegally on the restarts). Issues came for Chad and Scot as they fell back due to various problems with other cars. Towards the end, Odie's internet issues may have aided with a string of cautions that pretty much finished the race under yellow. Don't worry, Odie. I'm sure we would have finished that way even if you weren't there.
Race 2: We ran this race at 50 laps also instead of the full 100 as we were late on the start due to technical issues. Another good start with 5 humans up in the top ten. Scot did not suffer the same fate as before and would hold a second place until the end...even sneaking in a lead lap under caution *cough*. Darrel stayed close in for third. Sandy however would fall from his 10th through the field as things got ugly. He caught up to 19th by the end, but definitely could of had more. Chad once again suffered issues with other drivers which bounced him through the field, but otherwise ran fairly well. Odie also repeated the first race with tech problems likely accounting for most of the collisions and issues.
We are off next week as I'll be hunting with incendiary ammo. Zombie Apocalypse training. But we'll be back the week after for I-70. Hopefully things will be a little better there. It was good to race with everyone again.
