Race 1:
Zack and I started at the front while the other humans were back at the end or near enough. Qualifying was difficult here.
The first caution was out early as Scot took out the 11.
And the next was also his doing with Richard Petty.
This one actually caused some damage on the front stretch.
Darrel came up on the wreck quickly and smashed the 27 of Lightning McQueen into the tire wall while Sandy had to take evasive action.
The next caution was some laps later and not caused by Scot. But he was close by. Rowdy just checked up from the 88 and it was accordion time.
And the mark of Jackass was upon them. The cliff on the outter edge of the track very easily grabs any unsuspecting driver.
The next yellow was from Darrel getting a little loose off four and running into Michelle Benefield.
He had a hard time turning around but managed to get it going again.
About half a track ahead of this, Scot got bounced around a little and careened into the inside hay bails.
When he bounced up into traffic, the slaughter began.
And there's that ridge.
Scot was back into causing trouble when he was fighting hard with the number 7.
While the 7 was trying to maintain control, Scot was getting hit by the 67.
He saved it but launched up the track back into the Denver Broncos car.
That got him all caught on the fence and the yellow was out. Only a few laps of green flag racing left.
Scot had little time to gain positions so he started aggressively hustling the competition out of the way.
Although it did little to help him since he kept falling back after each contact.
Zack was also getting his hands full in 3 and 4-wide racing.
Just one lap to go and he was pointed the wrong way.
But he was quickly joined by several others.
Including Darrel.
Race 2:
Qualifying went even worse for some on this start than the last one.
No time was wasted to bring out the caution. Zack was running hot and wild with the 36 until he knocked him up the track.
While the 36 was getting slapped around, the 98 was turning Darrel.
And they just kept piling up behind.
Scot made sure the next one was brought out quickly by running over the 59.
He over corrected and then the downfall began.
At this point, Scot was crushed upside down and Darrel was stuck in a pile of junk. Zack was somewhat safe on the inside wall.
Sandy tried to stop and was mostly successful until the 003 came in and ram jetted him into the mess. This wreck alone took out both Scot and Sandy along with over half the field.
With fewer cars around, the racing was still close and competitive as Darrel turned the 40.
The 40 kept going while Jennifer Dewitt got Darrel loose.
As he was trying to straighten out, Holzheimer gave him a vicious blow.
The next caution wasn't far away as the AI were duking it out.
The slowup that Doc Hudson caused made life difficult for Zack.
And Darrel along with Zack were caught in another wreck. Amazingly, they were still going.
And coming to the yellow, they were still taking each other out.
So only 12 cars left to take the flag this time. You'd think we were about done wrecking...
...wrong.
Yet another caution as the 24 of Mike Lester takes out Benefield.
Setting her up perfectly for Darrel to harpoon.
And backwards again. Still in the top 5 though.
With two to go, the 2, who had been running way wide the whole time, finally started to grind the outside wall.
I took the win...
While Zack and Darrel grabbed top 10s.
We're on to Salem Night next week and then a week off.
