Nationwide Series 2012 - 30 Kansas

Mixed feelings from humans at this track.  We all did well in practice with times good enough to consider upping the AI strength.  Fortunately we didn't because they were strong in qualifying: I had pole (by not much), Chad was next in 24th with the remaining back in the order.  But things wouldn't stay that way.  Had a restart after a little scuffle and then a long green run.  Coming into the fuel window, Scot tangled up with someone and they both went into the wall out of 3.  The impact didn't seem too bad, but Scot's ride couldn't continue on after coming back to the pits.  The next caution was from Sandy though not through fault of his own.  Coming out of 2, he ran a little high off the center of the corner.  He held his line coming on to the straight, but Edwards had momentum and didn't budge an inch, sending the 021 into the wall and back into traffic.  I think everyone made a paint donation to the Pong car.  Darrel, Chad and I were cruising at the front as everyone else went in to top off on fuel.  I think Darrel had a spin but was OK.  However, this got him back in traffic where he met trouble.  Coming past the line he ran two cars up the track, sending his car a little out of line and he couldn't slow up or maneuver out of hitting David Starr square in the back.  The first hit was bad, the second had him in the wall, Dan Wheldon style, and he suffered one last blast drifting down the track into another car.  Darrel's night was over.  At the end, we had 1 lap of green flag coming out of caution.  I got a bit of a lead and Chad held off Busch and Edwards for second while Sandy grabbed a respectable 20th.  Three to go as we run Texas next week.
