Race 1:
Riggleman secured a pole with a strong qualy for Race 1 while the rest of the humans were towards the rear of the field.
Even with 60 laps to run, it didn't take one before we had altercations. Myers drove hard off the corner which overdrove the car down in front of Tnadz. Scot managed to gather it back up quickly and keep it pacing with the field.
Another handful of laps and Webster was in the thick of things. He managed to hold up with only a small collision with the group. But watch Myers at the bottom of the screen as he again performs his famous pool shot.
Slammed! Scot was in it as well but the secondary collision to Zack's car caused heavy damage.
Another altercation in the pits and his crew went home for some ice cream, leaving him to smolder on pit lane.
Mark soon discovered that a front facing start doesn't always mean you'll stay that way. Overdriving one of the turns put him sideways but unharmed.
Behind that, Mad Max and Hamilton bumped elbows through one of the turns.
Scot rode the open wheeler up to the wall but kept things going.
The slowdown, however, allowed Mark to catch up and his faster pace put him right into Scot.
The wreck actually was better than it looked. Mostly just some jostling and spinning. Mark, however, drove way down into the corner as you can see his rooster tail.
He came out the other side, angling badly into the wall.
While nursing the car, presumably back to the pits, Jim Clark got him twisted up.
Instead of taking to pit road, Mark braved the waters and was quickly met by Nigel Mansell.
Thanks to some quirky physics, both ended up twiddly winking into the air with Mark firmly lodged in the wall and out.
Nigel continued his slide and I was in a terrible position to respond.
The Tnadzmobile slammed cockeyed into Mansell and that was the end.
Besides chasing a loose car, Darrel didn't have much trouble and neither did Sandy. Both kept an even keeled pace and scored some top twenty points by the end.
Race 2:
With Mark out due to technical problems, that left nothing but humans to dominate the 30 somethings.
Again, lap one didn't disappoint for destruction.
Zack was making some moves on the field and working up the order. He didn't even let humans get in the way either. Which is perfectly acceptable at this track.
But his drive was cut short closing to the halfway point from a miscalculated corner entry. Spearing pit road wall has never seemed to help improve car performance. And in this case, dead.
Of course, that happened a bit later in the race. Back in early laps, Scot was trying to recover from a nasty wreck in Race 1 by adopting a strategy similar to The Bear. He never anticipated cars being fired down the track at him.
He was shot down to the interior of the track and had to tow to get out. While on pit road, Michael Schumacher felt it necessary to slam into him and land on me. Thanks, idiot.
I was on pit road for various transgressions from other drivers.
Most were minor but others...not so much.
So with an engine at half mast, I proceeded to do the only thing I could: race dirty.
Darrel and Sandy were performing the same strategy as previous and doing a fair job of it. I managed to catch Hamilton part way through and make a pass. But he didn't let me get far out in front of him.
In the process of keeping the pressure on, he might have taken out Ascari.
Yes he did.
In the end we finished well up in points. No top tens but a race better than it could have been.
Scot had next pick and decided another demolition track was in order. Our first figure 8 and visit to Raleigh Dirt.
