Race 1:
Darrel got things started off right by wrecking before the intersection. Although he did mention hanging out in the hornet stripes for the start of the race to avoid attrition.
It wasn't long before several humans found themselves consumed by the intersection. This one killed the Bear early who was hoping for string of good races.
Tnadz was the second victim.
He was joined by others. Hamilton was also out. Tnadz turtled and was still running but had to tow. And Chad held him in the pits up on the jack.
After much of the field retired, it was shaping up to be a shootout between local favorite, Scot Myer, and his demolition rival, Zack Webster.
Scot was driving away with the lead while Zack was holding it together and barely getting missed by Gut Slab.
Gurton Buster had just gotten his legs under him and was approaching top ten territory when he was blasted. Not dead but he did have to retire thanks to billowing smoke.
Myer was running away with the race when...
...he landed too hard. Well, if he isn't killing indestructible engines, he's dying in other uncommon ways. Decent finish but could of been a contender.
This left the top battle up to Webster and now, underdog, Gut Slab.
Zack was holding the lead when he was thwarted by a late race hit at the cross over.
That combined with other mishaps let Slab slip past for his first victory of the series. Well done.
Race: 2
Things started off even worse for the second round as nearly all the humans were caught up in some sort of incident.
The Bear continued to agitate the rivalry with Webster as he bopped him out of the X.
But then he was hit by Hamilton...
...who was hit by Myer...
...who was hit by Tnadz.
Hamilton was sufficiently slowed and was caught in a wall of cars. He only moved for a little more after that.
Unlike Race 1, Gut Slab was railed and taken out early.
Scot was caught out from the jump and slammed the end of pit road...
...twice!
In the aftermath, he was disoriented and drove the wrong way until he had Dairy Queen. Er, a black flag for driving backwards.
Just in case Hamilton wasn't dead, Caca Bueno buried him in the ground.
Gurton Buster was trying to improve from last race when he was hit hard through the cross over. Lucky for Zack too as the Ikea car would have been right in his path.
Less lucky for Zack, he was a little loose through the corner and got piled into.
He rolled hard into the wall and was continually hit, causing the engine to become a chimney.
To vent his frustrations, he hit Sandy before he eventually died.
And as The Bear recovered he was hit...
...again...
...and again...
...and again...
...and again one last time...
Which left Tnadz as the final human to represent. Although he had some close calls.
And closer calls.
But he made it to the last lap, plenty of laps ahead, where he lined up Suzuki like a cue ball and hit him...
...right into Valerio. A good finish indeed.
Race 3:
Kid gloves are off with full damage reduced from the previous two half-damage races and laps were dropped from 25 to 20. Things were shaping up to be a cracking start when this little incident happened.
Myer was unaware that the Ikea car was not an AI and didn't not try to wreck him. The death was almost immediate for GB.
Webster, too, was out very early as he was hit at the intersection.
It actually wasn't the first hit that got him as that one was more glancing. No, it was Suzuki who went in for the kill, almost straight on to the engine.
The 23 just barely disappeared before Scot was shooting the gap.
Tnadz was very nearly another early casualty as this took place.
He could breathe again and continue chasing down Slab for what could be top honors.
Several laps in and four of the humans were all close together.
Tnadz made the pass on Gut Slab but was launched into the number 4, badly damaging his engine, causing a need for repairs.
Bear went out in typical Twisted Metal fashion, a whirling mass of sheet metal.
Myer wasn't far behind.
While his car was dead and his chances for a win ruined, he still continued to damage other cars.
And even more cars. Amazing.
In the end, Slab mirrored his actions from Race 1 and kept his car clean for his second win of the series. Not far behind was Darrel, in second, turning around what was shaping up to be an "f-ing waste of time" ~Jim. Well earned to them both.
Although there weren't many other cars left to challenge them to be honest. Still, well earned.
Sandy has next pick as we return to the regular rotation and he astonishingly has not picked a demolition track. Instead, he returns us to the original go-to of twin round road courses (with pits): The very classic, Red Rock.
