Pot Luck 17 - R14-15 Honda Indy Toronto

A new track in an old standard.  Honda Indy Toronto.  A fairly unforgiving street circuit that didn't forgive.  How did we everyone perform at this new territory?

Race 1:

Tnadz and Zack Webster took the front row without having to take success ballast.

But things were not a rosey getaway for the front runners.  The first lap, Tnadz over-ran one of the last corners of the track, raking his side with early damage.

Which wasn't good because his rival, Gurton Buster, was storming through the order with haste, leaving a wake of destruction in his path (without really trying).

But Foresti halted his charge with a quick tap.  But he didn't lose much and got back on it.

Gut Slab was simply trying to get his laps right when he was rammed by the 31.  Fortunately, he'd turn his race around.

The mountain men were having a small tussle as well.

Things for the front two were just going from bad to worse as they blew past turn three, losing spots.

But they managed to get them back with Tnadz reclaiming the premier slot.

Which was quickly lost after another run in with the tire barriers at turn eight.

Which turned into a race-ruining rampage.

This left Buster with a clear shot at Webster.

He was lining up the 23...

...when he disconnected.

For Hamilton, things were going much better as he continued making passes, working his way up into the top ten.

After several laps, GB was back up to the front, ready to take his stab at Zack...

...when he disconnected again.

Gut Slab was another who was having a great race, looking at a top 10, when his engine simply let go, assumingly from previous damage.

The 61 of Hamilton was in a great position for a good finish when he caught the outside of the Dr Pepper tires and spun it.

That wasn't nearly as counterproductive as his collision with Khodair.

Or with two laps left, one of the Prati cars.  He did manage to finish the race in the twenties, just barely.

After all of the wrecks and ruin, Webster managed to keep his cool and finish on top.

With Gurton Buster only a lap away from potentially taking the victory, finishing 3rd.  It would seem, he's finally found a race setup the provides a true challenge for him.

Race 2:

All but Tnadz and Hamilton started Race 2 at the back, and it was a messy affair.  After a restart, Buster handed a side smacking to Smith on his way by.

Things seemed to steady out until Slab was on the scene in a maneuver that looked absolutely devastating.

At the front, Tnadz and Darrel were making their way and taking it easy.

Slab and Sandy were not, whether they were trying or not.  It's not clear exactly what happened at this corner, but there were several cars all over the place.

GB was taking the torch up again on chasing down that 1st place position and occasionally lighting the competition on fire with it.

Hamilton eventually had trouble with turn three.  And things started going down from there.

In somewhat unexplainable ways.

Gurton Buster managed to just miss this catastrophe and was up to the top ten.

Webster wasn't too far behind, attempting to make another good finish when he was turned by Genz.  And, yes, that is the end of pit road right at the bottom of the screen.

Things ended terribly.  It was the end for Zack Webster.

While it looked like GB was going to make it to the front, he came upon Gut Slab and some of the competition when things accordioned up.

Out of the next corner, Zonta had been knocked wide and Slab was upside down.  It's difficult to tell if it's due to GB's replay file or just a crazy race, but this was the 4th roll over at this track.

And Zonta was knocked clear to the other side of the wall.

But don't worry, he managed his way out.

Then, this happened.  Gurton Buster was continuing on to the front when he came upon Sandy Smith.  Things were OK until there was a severe connection issue and suddenly, the two were entangled like photons.  Except they had mass which converted into a massive wreck.  GB was done and Smith wasn't feeling better for it.

But in the end, the second race didn't make it past 10 laps before the server crashed.  The race was called with only two humans left, giving Tnadz the win.

While it wasn't the type of end anyone wanted or expected, it was allowed by GB and therefore, official.
