Race 1:
A 40 lap sprint to start the evening and Gurton Buster led the way.
Hamilton got a run at the start and was nosing ahead but ultimately he fell back, unable to make the low line work as quickly.
Several laps in and the first incident involved Kyle Hunter in the 43, dropping a motor in the middle of the pack.
As trucks checked up, Mad Max (in a different scheme...*cough*) got into the back of the field.
Things got weird under caution as a Bodine-driven pace car couldn't figure out when to be on the track or the pit road.
Back under green, a few more laps went by until Tnadz swept the car close the wall and the rear snapped around.
Hamilton sent the 13 flying and toppling about the safer barrier.
As his truck came off the wall, it was met by several others, destroying his hopes and dreams of a decent finish.
The next run, The Egg got an impressive head of steam and nearly made the pass stick.
However, he was boxed out by Willis and Buster.
About half way and Darrel was too hot off of four.
After ping-ponging the front stretch walls, he collected several trucks.
Another restart and Egg was back in the hunt.
A little ways back, Gut Slab, who'd been floating around podium position for much of the race, was caught out by Hunter, and sent him flying.
The Bear came to the evolving wreck and snuck by, not unscathed.
With the one-to-go before green, Darrel Hamilton was speeding up to catch the pack when his engine let go and he was done.
Myhr brought out the next caution by casually side swiping competitors on his outside. Very casually.
With only a handful of laps left, The Egg was all in and GB chased him down to the inside to prevent a pass.
It was getting exciting but looked like Buster would hold him off for the lead.
Last lap and Gut Slab went to war with Regan on his inside.
The two slid up the track and collected more drivers.
Miraculously, Slab straightened out and pulled away, getting a good finish while what was left of the field either crashed or evaded.
At the line, GB took yet another victory for the Strongbow team while The Egg let slip a 2nd place and was buffeted by Tompkins out of the last corner, nearly wrecking him.
Every position was up for grabs as even those down the order were fighting to the last. Sandy eeked out ahead of Harris for a patiently earned 12th place.
Race 2:
The 80 lap endurance started off with a sham as Windows shut down the server. On the restart, Hamilton and Myhr bailed, citing bed time, while Slab had to grab some dinner. Upon requalifying, Tnadz took the pole and led them off.
Part way through, he started laying back and GB took the lead.
The Egg almost made a pass as well but was burdened by aggressive aggressors.
Not many laps in and Tressler, like Hunter in Race 1, lost a motor and jacked up the field.
It got busy in a hurry with The Bear punting Webster a bit in the back end.
On the restart, Egg made a huge dive up the inside to clear lappers.
The next caution flew as The Bear got a tap from Theile off of two.
He amazingly missed several trucks flying back across the track.
But he lost it coming off the wall and got absolutely blasted.
It was just barely in the pit window so everyone came in.
On the restart, Dixon gave the business to Harris.
Webster tried to sneak through but was tossed about. Also Gut Slab was back and racing.
Goldstraw would cause the next caution several laps later as he offed Zack.
Slab thought it a bad hit and returned the favor.
And also gave Hillesheim the what-for.
Cautions abound as Rebrov got into a slowed Sandy.
With under a dozen or so to go, The Egg was slowly falling down the order and desperately trying to work past blockading lap backmarkers.
At the front, Tnadz was turning the pressure on full as the laps ticked into low, single digits.
With only a few left, he started peaking.
Then dim-witted Dean Tompkins gave the fender flair (much like the Rick Flair) to The Egg who was doing battle to stay around 8th.
Webster nearly joined him as he made contact with Gruber Jr.
Coming to the line, Tnadz made a right hand turn into the wall as his Windows went right back to desktop. Let's all take a moment to appreciate Windows putting beta software in a live release.
As he took his second place, he was assaulted by Theile who was already high on his sh*t list.
With the remaining laps under caution, GB took his second victory of the night.
Now on to Kansas for a fast paced night race.
