British Trucks 2018: 43-44 Phoenix

The second to last track on the roster was a turning point in the series and sees GB take the lead from Tnadz but only just barely.  Before looking ahead to the showdown, here's how the desert races went down.  Twitch stream made possible by The Egg.  And viewers like you.

Race 1:

Gurton Buster lead the field after turning impressive qualifying laps.

The Egg make quick work of the trucks ahead and it only took a few laps to pull up to third.

But it would take fewer laps for Cooper to run off the apron into Hornacek, causing a pileup.

Hamilton and others just barely managed to squeeze through the calamity.

On the restart, The Egg got a fast start and pulled into second place.

Just in time for Franklin to be spun by Hamilton.

The Egg got another stunning restart and grabbed the lead from Buster.

Just in time for Slab to take out Borisoff.

After the next start, Buster was eventually able to take back the lead.

And Tnadz followed closely after.

But after about a dozen laps, Buster maintained the gap and took the win.

Race 2:

From 32 to 63 laps, GB took another pole with Tnadz and Egg close behind.

The Egg made an early pass but overdrove a corner, handing it back to Tnadz.

Hamilton brought out the first caution by running up on Vickers too quickly and sliding into Harris and Gut Slab!

On the restart, The Egg made a dive on Tnadz, taking back 2nd.

Behind, Hamilton was still trying to work out traffic when he ran over Hill and Rogers.

This caution period was far enough in that all but Egg and Buster pulled in.

A little past half way, GB gave the lead to Tnadz to come in for fuel and tires.

Tnadz made his stop several laps later.  When suddenly...

Rebrov and The Egg came together bringout out the caution.

The result was that Tnadz kept the lead and half the field was on the tail end of the lead lap.

While almost an entire track seemed like a gift, the traffic was a problem.  Tworz cut off Vickers who brake checked Tnadz.

His lead and dreams of holding the championship lead went right into the wall.

The Egg and Buster then lined up to take a crack at the field.

Buster cut the kink and passed a bunch of trucks up to around the top ten.

Just as The Bear caught the wall and got into Hunter.

Which caused a nasty accident.

On the restart, the trucks on the outside line checked up, causing Gut Slab to accordion into Rogers...

...who took out Tnadz and Egg.

At the front of the field, there was one lap of racing left which Buster used to make a last turn pass for the win.

On to Homestead to bring the series to a dramatic finish.
