Shorties RC 2019: 25-26 Lydden Hill

Nearing the end and The Egg still retains a strong lead over the series.  But it's still anyone's championship with 3 more tracks to go.  Race 1, Darrel Hamilton crushed it in qualy and lead for most of the race when he was taken out by a lapper.  He managed to get back into it and still hold the lead but was tapped again and again, plummeting down the order.  Then, Webster ran up to second place for a protracted amount of time and it looked like he would close in on the leader.  But then he too fell like Icarus, flying too close to the sunny spot of 1st.  After careful car control, The Egg managed to work up to the top 5 where he was gifted a few spots thanks to a gibbed Zolecki.  After acquiring 2nd by deliberately wrecking Chilton, he entered the final lap chasing down the leader, Plato.  Without a second thought, he sent him off the track to take the lead and the win, though his points haul is in review.

The second race was also very exciting with Zolecki and Webster battling right off the front line.  Zolecki got squirrely and then fought with Smith for a time.  The two stayed close together while Webster opened up a small gap.  Zolecki broke into the pits first for the compulsory stop with Tnadz in tow.  The two managed to catch Webster a bit when disaster struck for Jaime.  Tnadz did his best to close on Webster and despite a loss of 5th gear, managed to reach him by the last couple laps.  Not far behind him, The Egg had pulled up significantly and it was getting intense.  But after The Egg tangled with Mansell and Tnadz just not having enough pull through the straights, Webster held on for his first win of the series.

Now back to Australia for Mallala.
