2020 Super Speedway Series - Round 11: Dragon-Nett

The second to last race of the series was filled with excitement and excrement.  How did the Big Pocono-like track handle after several last minute adjustments and mulligans?

Race 1:

Egg kicked things off on the 10 lap sprint at the 5 lap mark.  While staying with Tnadz up high, the 44 got between them.  A little bump and nudge and things unraveled.

Quickly

It was only a little bit later when it was a 5-human pack at the front when Tnadz had a run and moved to the outside lane.  Around the same time, Hamilton was killing off the competition and also did a slow glide slide into the 013 to send him back to Eggland to fight it out for 39th.

Webster held the lead despite what could have been an attempt by the Mountain Men to make a pass.

Race 2:

Things turned sour quickly after The Bear got spun out by the 69.  Though this resulted in hardly any damage and he recovered almost instantly.

The next caution happened a few laps later when Egg and Tagliani came together on the front stretch.  He also came away with just a couple scrapes and nothing major.

Pit road was busy but Zolecki and Webster stayed out.

The next run was fairly exciting with Tnadz and Hamilton finally making a run around the outside.  However, a small bumper grab and the slightest change in direction sent the 61 into the rest of the field.

His wreck was rather painful for his car's performance.  It's in there somewhere.

Oddly enough, mostly just humans this time.

Egg was involved with the next yellow when the 44 checked up coming to pit road, sending Egg and others everywhere.  Again, he missed the worst of it.

Zack's race got more interesting as he checked up for the 22 and then got double dumped by Zolecki while Egg and Tnadz slipped by.

Just over halfway and Hamilton got a massive jump while trying to catch the field.  But he also caught Egg's bumper and it went bad.

The Bear was also included in the wreck.

The next caution happened while the humans at the front were breaking away.  Dion-Vienne got wrapped up in the 44 and cars went everywhere.

It was 5 to go, a lap earlier than planned, when Zack and Jamie made the pass to the front.

Tnadz was experimenting with controlling the pack to see what kind of run he could get by the end.  It was looking fairly promising...

Until the AI ruined the deal by all pitting with 3 and 2 to go and causing a caution in the process.  This did benefit Tnadz, Bear and Hamilton who had all fallen back a bit, nearly ending in a human lockout at the front.

Thus giving the win to Zolecki with Webster in second.

Final race next week at the monstrous JGIR where it's not too big for fails.
