2020-3 Whelen Modified Series - Round 1: Lydden Hill

An interesting season opener for sure at Lydden Hill.  A smaller human field than normal but the action was still intense.

Heat 1:

The Egg dominated the first race with a powerful setup.  Zack and Ross battled behind, swapping places as each had a few misteps at various corners but managed to podium, making sure each had to start from the back.

Heat 2:

Hamilton dropped from the front of the grid after experiencing technical issues and will see us all next week.  Tnadz inadvertently qualified up on pole but pulled over to let the field by so as not to get penalized.  From there he and Zack worked to catch up to the Egg who was quickly flying through traffic.  Webster slid out at Devil's elbow, yielding position to Tnadz who only made it to 6th just before the checkered flag.

The Main:

This time, Webster took the pole with Tnadz directly across.  Tnadz won off the line into the first turn but Zack stayed close behind for several laps.  Then, around lap 8, Zack's engine let go.  Not long after, The Egg also lost his motor.  And only a few laps after that, The Bear was out for mechanical breakage.  It was looking like Tnadz was certainly going to share the same fate but he held on to the lead and finished the 30 lapper handily.

On to the first oval, Bristol Night.
