2021-1 NASCAR Cup Series - Round 6: Atlanta

Race 1:

Egg had a fun ride at the start, as we all did in previous attempts.  Gut Slab was squeezed to the wall to avoid a slow starting Webster.

The Bear was the first major victim as he was swept by the field...

...and that was a big wreck that caught up Zack and nearly got Gut Slab and Scot.

Although Gut Slab would end up getting ruined later on in the run.

Tnadz kept it together out in front without Webster or Egg bringing the heat for win 1 of the night.

Race 2:

The second sprint was more productive for the humans at the front.  Gut Slab trailed The Egg for the whole race, looking for a way past but not able to without compromising both their races.  Tnadz had his own struggle against Webster as the two fought it out every lap.  Zack took the high road while Smith took the low road.

And Zack got to the finish line before him.  While Tnadz had a couple moments where he nearly took the advantage, he couldn't press the issue and it was down to a drag race off 4 that Zack just had an edge on.

Race 3:

A similar start as the last one for the 49 lap main.

Things were quiet as the humans worked away at the laps until Mad Max sent Gaughn and friends into the wall.

There was another caution as Gut Slab was bounced off the wall and then stopped on the backstretch.  While he got a tow and it looked like he was done, he was not.

When he finally got going, he decided to stop on the frontstretch right in front of the field.

The accident was huge, stopping the race and collecting The Bear.

Webster was rearended as well and things under caution got weirder from there because of where the pace car picked up the field.  Zack and Ross were across the line when the crash happened, throwing everything into chaos.

When it got cleaned up, Egg had the lead and there were cars between him and the previous top runners with 10 to go.  However, after about 4 or 5 laps, he was caught and Webster put on the pass for the lead.

Eventually Tnadz got by as well, despite an incredible fight made by Egg.  From there, he hunted down Webster and finally got a carlength off of the corner.

From there, he took his blistered tires to victory lane.

Next week, it gets dirty at Bristol.
