Pick10 - 5 & 6 Mexico City

For our first road course, we ran fairly well.  We all managed top 5 times consistently, although not as consistently in the actual races.  No yellows and no Scot or Rob tonight.

Race 1:
We had to reset after our first standing start (Darrel expected lights...how silly).  Second time out, Sandy got taken out trying to break a little early into 1.  After that he was playing catch up and reached into the top 20 before getting taken out by some AI on the last lap.  I led the whole time but just barely.  After about 8 laps we all started to have tires get worn.  Darrel and Chad were going back and forth and were several seconds back.  With two to go cars were pitting everywhere because gas was close.  As I got caught in traffic, Chad and Darrel (after some dancing with each other) started catching up.  I had to pit because I would have run out and I changed tires.  Chad and Darrel went by.  Chad was up front and locked tires going through the hairpin and Darrel and I went past.  Darrel ended up getting caught up in some AI action and spinning (I believe) and I just took back the lead.

Race 2:
All of us except Sandy were at the front and Darrel tore away from the grid.  Chad leaned back and let the field by in an attempt to out smart them in the end (assuming they would pit) and had a "discussion" with the end of pit road.  This was after he scared Sandy with his mere, unexpected presence.  He was hurt pretty good but managed to do some catching up until he was involved in some major destruction at the end.  Darrel and I played nice through the beginning and he played more conservatively at the start.  As we got close to the end of the race, he began to creep up and I nearly ran out of gas.  But I held on until just before the finish and rolled across the line on an empty tank.  Darrel wasn't far behind.  Sandy and Chad fought hard (and hurt many cars) but did not fare too well.

Next week is Myrtle Beach Night.  Should be fun.
