Nascar Sprint Cup Championship 2014 - 16 Sonoma

Sadly only three of us tonight but it was fairly decent racing.  And to boot, we survived a massive stretch of brown- and blackouts here in Erie.  Thank God for UPS's

We ran well in practice and were very evenly spread through the field.
Early on, there was plenty of action.

On the way back to the yellow, Darrel was putting some serious moves on the competition:

Back under green, there was some more chaos around the same area between Menard and Stewart.  This did not bring out the caution.

This one did however.

It wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Back under green, Darrel continued his aggressive drive to the front, slamming cars to walls.

The next caution came out when Landin Cassill took to Sandy's rear bumper.  Took em both out.

Coming around the second lap, Darrel got caught on the wrong side of the pitline and was turned something fierce.

But that wasn't nearly as bad as the next spin.  Here, he and Kasey Kahne got together which got him in position before Kesolowski nicked his bumper and sent him into the infield.

Almost at the same time, these two got launched off-track and started re-enacting a chase scene out of the Blues Brothers film.

And it got messy.

What this resulted in was Darrel not realizing that half the field was stalled up in the previous turn.  Assuming all was clear, he proceeded to pull out into traffic.

And paid dearly.

It was this caution I picked to do my one stop for the race.  Unfortunately for me, my entire crew are morons and just stood there.  They stopped being idiots on the second stop which came next lap thanks to a waved off green.

A few more laps back under Green and the wrecking resumed, right around the same spot as usual.

This yellow came out at an unusual spot.  I thought we were still racing the the line but we were not in-fact.  Here, I shot Gordon way wide in the same spot he ran me off nearly three years ago.  Take that.

Another restart foiled!  Wasn't entirely my fault as the idiot, Wise, came flying over to the outside wall directly in front of me.  I tried to miss him, even turned him straight again.  But it was too late and the yellow was already in the flagman's hand.

Again, I aggressively drove back to the line.

We were now closing in on the last ten laps or so and Sandy had made it up to 3rd thanks to some late pit stops from the rest of the field.

And he was driving the wheels off the thing.

He then got wide out of turn six...

...where Jimmie Johnson caught and tossed Sandy to the wall.  Little damage was done.  The caution didn't even wave until...

Back to green with about six more to go

Sandy had fallen back but was fighting hard.

The both of us were pushing our cars right to the edge to get the laps knocked down.

Old Buckey Beaver or Rat Boy as some call him, took Sandy out like he took his teammate, Darrel, out several laps before.

This caution made for the Death Tunnel glitch.  This is the same thing that happened to Scot previously where his car tunneled after a lost connection and reappeared inside another vehicle, Denny Hamlin.  Race done.  I will be scoring as a DNS as there were still plenty of laps remaining.

Coming to the final lap, these two idiots decided to dance and the yellow was thrown.

With nothing to lose, I took retaliation against Hamlin and gave him a shunt coming to take the white and yellow flags.  Sent him straight into the tire wall where his race would end.

We now go to Kentucky: A fun and fast track.  I will need to send a new track folder for this one as the current edition is messed up in certain ways.  I'll let you all know.
