Race 1:
With one mulligan in the bag, the entire field was crowded. Darrel Hamilton topped the humans but Tnadz, Egg and Buster were close behind. Tnadz nearly caused a wreck at the line, touching wheels with Goldstraw.
Turn one and Hamilton touched the apron, sending him up the track.
The Bear had more struggles on the opening lap, getting tapped by White (not White) and sent glancing off the wall with damage and a slower truck.
Ahead, they were trying at 5-wide and it almost didn't work as Collins moved slightly up into O' Regan who collected Dixon.
Those two splashed against the wall and fell back.
Right into traffic where they started pin balling around. No caution yet.
Up towards the front, four humans were close together on the outside line with Egg moving ahead of Hamilton.
Darrel made slight contact with Paul Jones on the entrance of one and floated up the track to meet the wall.
Unfortunately the sudden decrease in speed and shift and balance sent him around into traffic as soon as he came away from the barrier.
And while it didn't include the entire field, it was massive. Truly Slab worthy.
At the line GB had the pass clear and lead the humans.
On the restart, halfway through the 15 lapper, Tnadz and tubby Tompkins touched tires...
...sending Tnadz off into a spin that set him up for last but at least bringing out the caution.
Coming to the line, Slab was making some wild attempts on Smythe but awkwardly caught his bumper and flew into the wall. No animals or AI were harmed in the making of this wreck.
Under caution it was a different story as Darrel rapidly closed on the pacing field and slammed the brakes, which caused Kyle Hunter to collect into him and Smith.
On the restart, there were only a few more laps of racing left and The Egg had the advantage.
While he kept finding attack points on the low side, he couldn't get enough realestate to complete the pass. In one desperate attempt, Buster tried to throw Hawkins at The Egg. Let's save it for twisted metal, eh?
Final lap and Hamilton caught the wall off four, going into a spin and bringing out the yellow.
In one final attempt, GB got a good run on The Egg but there was nowhere for him to carry that moment besides into the back of The Egg or Jones. Save that for...oh, you are. Good on you!
Knowing he couldn't complete the pass on the front stretch, he settled for 6th in dramatic style.
Egg took a well earned top 5.
Race 2:
30 laps and the start was just as crazy. Tnadz was further up the order and tried to work the outside.
Just like Darrel in Race 1, he came down on another truck and swept up the track.
Buster managed to move up the order, poking through the top 5 and going for the lead. The Egg was having a little more trouble but also was coming up the ranks.
After several laps, the 8 took the lead.
But he wasn't managing to pull away too well thanks to Super Speedway.
Gut Slab was also making his way through the field.
Until he was literally making his way through the field, taking out Lee Rogers and bringing out the yellow just at the start of the pit window.
There wasn't much of a wreck but Mad Max took advantage and immediately jumped 10 positions. Wait, is that only 9 cars?
That's because Scot might have taken out Scholz earlier.
Most everyone came in for tires and gas.
Gut Slab got a massive jump on the start while Zack's flickering internet connection scared everyone to death.
Slab wasn't the only one to get a jump as Myhr blew by some slower drivers, again swiping a bucket load of positions.
And hip-checking the competition on his way by. Classic Scot style.
Coming to the line, GB was going massively defensive.
Gut Slab fell off pace beforehand but he was terribly low on fuel so it likely didn't matter.
Under caution, Gurton Buster was hit by Collins!
And many more!
Seriously, like 8 or 9 trucks hit him.
The restart was a cluster.
A mix of slow and fast traffic tripped up Tnadz as he ran Rocha into the wall.
Caught with nowhere to go, Buster and The Bear barreled into the mess.
On the restart, The Egg was now looking down the back of a few drivers between him and a potential win. He only had to have a couple good laps and make a move.
It didn't work. White (not White) hit him.
Taking full advantage of the situation, Myhr did his patented hip check.
Sending metal at The Egg to make sure he had a good wreck.
It worked.
Gurton Buster was nearly hit by no less than four trucks trying to gobble spots before finishing under yellow.
He also managed to just inch out Thiele for a 15th.
Tnadz was barely beat out by Hawkins and only got 13th.
Gut Slab actually had a fantastic race and pushed his way into the top 10 out of nowhere.
Even the rest of the humans managed to make up several spots and even The Egg survived to the end.
He didn't take the win but pulled off an impressive 4th in his first race back after a short break. Most impressive.
On to Bristol at night for some classic short track racing. Little change of cautions.
