British Trucks 2018: 23-24 Kentucky

The season, along with the weather, is heating up.  Another 1.5 miler on the charts but it was anything but boring.  Live Stream presented by Purple Mattress and the Egg Drop Test.

Race 1:

Tnadz lead them to the green as Egg and Buster got a jump on the few trucks around them.

The Bear and Webster weren't far back but got a little swamped at the beginning.  However, they hooked up and started working back up the order.

GB was able to finally get around Willis after a few laps and was fighting for the lead with Egg not far behind.

Another lap or so, Zack rocked the back end of Dixon which sent him on his way.

Unfortunately this collected a few others, including Hamilton.

On the restart, it was a scramble at the front.

The racing was short lived as Tompkins  turned Webster in front of Smith.

Smith wasn't too damaged but enough that he would struggle to recover positions lost.

Racing to the line, GB was nosed out by Willis.

Back under green, The Egg pulled a perfect pick with the slow responding 65 and tried to make a quick grab up the inside.

His truck had different ideas as it struggled to maintain speed and both were quickly caught by Hawkins and Gibson who split them like a watermelon at a Gallagher show.

As they fought for position, everyone slotted into a lane and it was very exciting.

GB was shifting down to the low side when Mel dipped his speed dramatically in front of the 8.

Not much damage but only by luck as the Strongbow ride went to the back.

Coming to the line, Hawkins ran the high line next to Tnadz and sent him spinning.

This only collected Tnadz and Willis but both would lose a lot of spots before making it across the line.

Restarting, Egg tried for the lead but ended up going the wrong way, missing out on his only lap of racing for the win.

He did manage to make for an exciting finish though as he pushed Tressler across the line.

Race 2:

Buster lead them to the green this time and it was Egg and Tnadz who would fan out looking for purchase.

He managed to clear the traffic at the front for some clear air.

And it wasn't long before The Egg and Tnadz were able to join him.

Gut Slab was also making his way up the field after a serious battle for position.  He didn't even make contact.

After some laps and interference with Goldstraw, Tnadz and Egg swapped places.

Back in the field, Webster and Hamilton were starting to hook up to work the high line.

About a dozen or so laps in, Slab got a hit from Dixon and was sent up the track.

Webster managed to avoid completely destroying the Red Bull ride but didn't come away from it clean.

The whole field was in.

Except for Darrel and Slab who got an absolute massive, Russian inspired jump on the start.

But with only 10 laps left in the tank (and not many more for the tires), the Doritos truck succumbed to pressure.

Between Goldstraw and Egg, he barely managed to make it out alive as he drifted down the order.  But was lucky to keep it moving in the right direction.  Good save.

Pab give a hip check to Gut Check and sent him bounding off the wall to bring a yellow out at halfway.

GB took a different strategy and kept out ahead of the field.

But then dove in, giving up the lead.

An interesting strategy, would it play out with 1 lap, fresher tires?

His momentum was immediately stunted as Lee Rogers ran over Webster.

Back under green, Tnadz and The Egg were doing battle for the lead with a hungry pack behind.

But they were challenging for position as well.

Meanwhile, GB had built up a head of steam and was on the charge.

With only a few laps left and no cautions in sight, he made a move around The Egg.

And a lap later, on Tnadz.

And he was gone, finding unimaginable grip on the high line.

Thus snatching up another win, surely cementing a dominant lead in the series.

Back in the field, another battle was playing out as Hamilton only just inched ahead of The Bear for position.  Not for huge points but for a small amount of embarrassment.

The next track is the iconic, and unusual, Eldora dirt track.
