British Trucks 2018: 25-26 Eldora

It got down and dirty at Eldora.  Unfortunately several technical issues prevented the second (and even some of the first) race from proceeding properly.  Darrel eventually had to quit after having a strong run in the opener.  Fortunately, Zack was able to take his place for the main event.

Race 1:

After a few attempts, qualifying stuck and it was Tnadz leading them to the start.

After a tough qualifying back in the field, The Egg was quickly making up ground and shoving the competition out of the way like Tompkins here.

As the front runners closed in on the back of the field, Gurton Buster belted Tnadz and sent him around for the first caution.

He then went for the whole family tree and attacked the Bear as he was simply trying to race back to the line.

Juts ahead, The Egg was caught up in some back markers slamming the brakes.

Which quickly turned into a pile 'o Egg.

On the restart, it was Hamilton who would begin chasing down GB.

After some laps, Tnadz had caught Hamilton who was heavily drifting off of four.

As his truck swung down and Tnadz pushed up the two brushed and it was enough to send Darrel down the track for another yellow.

Darrel still had another lap to pull before getting across the line and was checked by Rebrov into Dixon and then knocked about by several others.

On the restart, he made short work of the field, even sending Pab into the wall, making a hole for The Egg.

A few more laps and it was Buster who lost it after opening up a sizable lead.

Another parking lot formed past the line.

With only a handful of laps left, Slab put everything he had into getting around Willis but settled for sending Willis around.

Just behind, Tompkins got revenge on The Egg and spun him at the line, dropping him like a rock.

Without enough laps to use his pace, Buster settled for second behind Tnadz and just ahead of Slab who reaches the podium again for the season.  Hamilton was able to bounce back and take away points just out of the top ten.

Race 2:

After several resets and Bill Gates getting involved with Russian Brides, the 60 lap main started with GB on the pole, Tnadz and Egg close behind and Sandy back in 5th!

After a quarter of the race was spent, Tnadz and Buster both decided to see how far they could drift before the caution came out.  It was about this much.

Not long after the restart, GB took back the lead.

The Bear started falling back as he was shuffled to the outside.

Getting close to halfway and lap traffic was becoming a factor.

Gut Slab, taking over for Mark Riggleman, was working his way up through the top twenty as the leaders closed in.

Just before going down a lap at lap 30, he had contact with the 06 of Smythe and the caution was out to save him.

On the next start, Egg was starting to lose ground around the outside.

But he'd have a chance to catch up as Webster warped into Franklin.

Coming to the caution, Slab got railed by Gruber Jr.

Green flag and they were clustered.

Buster seemed to be having some slight car control ticks as he flopped it off the wall.

Slab quickly found himself another partner in Hughes as the cautions kept inbreeding cautions.

Another start and another good jump from The Egg.

Again, Zack would bring out a yellow thanks to his intrepid internet connection.  This time, Shorter got the short straw without any touches.

The final restart would be a green-white-checkered and it was thrilling.

But Tnadz and Egg couldn't line up a run and Buster took another win, his 10th of the season.

Egg managed a podium on a track he wasn't sure about.

And Slab Riggleman eeked out a top 10.

From the short track hard pack of Eldora to the long straights of Pocono.
