Egg started off with a dramatic overtake from several rows deep, pushing into an early lead.
Hamilton was beginning to work up the field when he touched the apron and ran it up the track into the 1, ending his race early.
After the restart, Egg had his hands full fighting off the competition.
Towards the back, Smith tried to make a pass on the flagging Webster when he drifted up and made contact. Webster had a nasty crash and spun off.
Ross wouldn't make it far, hitting a brake-check from Arsenault, the Canadian, which sent him around and into the wall.
Everyone came in on what was just on the very edge of the window for fuel.
Although Sandy Smith stayed out and tried to make up positions at the front. He did get stuck in the wall though, allowing the whole field by.
Zolecki only just missed him coming off the corner.
Not much further up the track though, he'd tangle with the 87, sending him spinning.
After that caution, Smith tried a similar tactic as Sandy as the rest of the field hit the pits (except The Egg). But early damage kept him off pace and he was swamped.
Eventually, he was spun by Herbie Lovebug who he'd get even with on the last lap of the race.
On that caution, The Egg was in and he was mostly alone.
It looked as though the late stop would give him tires over the competition and he was moving up the field (and moving the field).
But his meteoric rise turned into a mediocre brake-check from the 98 of Lepage and the two would end up swapping ends, finishing the race under caution.
The humans were well down the order after what was probably the most disappointing Charlotte finish this league has ever seen. Fortunately, Egg has picked a road course further north for Round 3: Monrteal.
