Pot Luck 2019: 4 Charlotte

Webster's pick takes the series to the familiar banks of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. But, owing to various settings with the AI and other bad luck, things hit a Lowe point for many of the drivers.

Egg started off with a dramatic overtake from several rows deep, pushing into an early lead.

Hamilton was beginning to work up the field when he touched the apron and ran it up the track into the 1, ending his race early.

After the restart, Egg had his hands full fighting off the competition.

Towards the back, Smith tried to make a pass on the flagging Webster when he drifted up and made contact. Webster had a nasty crash and spun off.

Ross wouldn't make it far, hitting a brake-check from Arsenault, the Canadian, which sent him around and into the wall.

Everyone came in on what was just on the very edge of the window for fuel.

Although Sandy Smith stayed out and tried to make up positions at the front. He did get stuck in the wall though, allowing the whole field by.

Zolecki only just missed him coming off the corner.

Not much further up the track though, he'd tangle with the 87, sending him spinning.

After that caution, Smith tried a similar tactic as Sandy as the rest of the field hit the pits (except The Egg). But early damage kept him off pace and he was swamped.

Eventually, he was spun by Herbie Lovebug who he'd get even with on the last lap of the race.

On that caution, The Egg was in and he was mostly alone.

It looked as though the late stop would give him tires over the competition and he was moving up the field (and moving the field).

But his meteoric rise turned into a mediocre brake-check from the 98 of Lepage and the two would end up swapping ends, finishing the race under caution.

The humans were well down the order after what was probably the most disappointing Charlotte finish this league has ever seen. Fortunately, Egg has picked a road course further north for Round 3: Monrteal.

Pot Luck 2019: 1-3 Saitama

Tnadz kicked off the series by choosing what was once an unusual favorite of the drivers. But that was with a totally different car set and the Japanese track of Saitama proved to be nothing but a hell ride for all the drivers.

Race 1:

The race started off with Smith and Zolecki dueling for the lead. Smith made an exit off of turn one and struggled at the back of the grid for most of the race. Jaime was sitting pretty at the front until his tires failed him. Webster, The Bear and Hamilton suffered early crashes either at the hands of tricky conditions or competition. Gut Slab managed to limp home while Tnadz made his way back for a top ten. The big story by the end was The Egg who lost it near the end and grazed a tire barrier. His car billowed smoke and was nigh undrivable but he managed to just make it before the field caught him, taking an early points lead.

Race 2:

Tnadz was the only human who managed to qualify at the front but he booched the start and struggled back, only to eventually end himself just a lap shy of the finish thanks to cooked tires. The Egg piled right into him. In fact all other humans DNFed Race 2 except for Sandy who managed to survive but finished well down the order.

Race 3:

Smith and Zolecki battled hard for the first 5 laps. Jaime seemed to have the advantage but lost it on the final complex, yielding the lead to Smith and eventually crashing out later. Again, nearly all of the humans succumbed to damage with Hamilton hanging on to finish at the tale end of the field. Ross barely kept it together and eeked out a win, Egg-style, on tortured tires and a damaged engine.

Next week will be a full race at Charlotte.
