2020 Super Speedway Series - Round 2: Riki Raceway

The deep angles and high banks of Riki Raceway played out to some wild and crazy finishes.

Race 1:

The 10 lap sprint started with Tnadz and Hamilton at the front, with Gut Slab and GB close behind.  Bear, Egg and Webster started at the back for various reasons.

The first misstep happened a few laps in when Zolecki got entangled with another car down the front stretch.

While he nearly saved it, a slight but unintentional punterino from Slab cascaded into calamity, sending much of the pack every which way.

With Hamilton and Smith at the front of the field, mostly unchallenged, they were side by side for some bits until they made contact and things got fishy.

On the last lap, Darrel had managed to catch back up with the leader and was attempting to get a run down the backstretch when he made contact with a lapper, sending him tumbling back to the teens.

The chase was on between Tnadz and The Egg, who had made a hard drive from the back of the pack.  As they caught Hamilton in the final corner, Tnadz tried to use the slower 61 as a pick.  But The Egg saw things differently and send the 13 into the wall.

He then crossed the finish line in dramatic fashion.

Race 2:

The 30 lapper started with Zack on pole and a hungry pack behind (get it, because he's got popcorn?).

Only a few laps in and Egg had fallen back after some twitchy steering.  Hamilton seemed to be suffering similar issues as he self-spun right in front of the 34...

...and came right back into him, causing a massive crash.

Under caution, Tnadz was spun by the 76, Lapcevich.

Tnadz was mostly unaffected, however, the cars catching up were caught unaware, going full speed.

Gut Slab avoided major damage, however, The Bear did not.

Under green former Know U teammates lead the pack with Tnadz close behind and Slab looking to hold on as the first car a lap down.

Then, Tagliani caught a fender on Tnadz.

Sending him straight up in front of Slab who had been doing so well staying with the leaders.

Under caution, Bear tagged a passing car...

Sending him straight to the inside barrier.

And right back into traffic.

The wreck delayed the restart and took some people out.

The caution was soon out again, helping Zolecki and Webster at the front of the field with fuel savings as The Egg wiped out at the tri-oval, getting wrecked by the passing 5.

A final caution, thanks to a botched pass on Bear by the Egg, cut the 3 remaining laps to 1 final dash.  While trying to ward off the same 76 who wrecked Tnadz, Zolecki was sent into the wall where he bounced and came sliding harmlessly across the infield, losing handfuls of positions.

In a similar finish to Egg's in Race 1, Tnadz got into contact with the 21 who dove below the line reacting to a wreck ahead.

And without any issue under the remaining caution laps whatsoever, Zack Webster takes another victory.  No problems at all.
