2020 Super Speedway Series - Round 3: Eight Bowl Night

The first super road road course lengthened Webster's lead and provided plenty of close calls and cataclysmic crashes.

A few laps was all it took in this 10 lap sprint for things to kick off.  The Egg, fighting with his setup as much as the cars around him, got into Vogel on the back stretch and spent the better part of his racing getting hit and knocked around.

Gut Slab used his excellent start and the ensuing melee to rocket up to 3rd, challenging all parts of the podium.

Eventually, Darrel came into contact with the Egg.  The Bear was able to slip by, eventually rising over half of the field for a very decent finish.

But it wasn't the end for the top 3 as Tnadz got a tap from Hamilton, apparently going for a hole that wasn't there.

What would have been a podium, turned into barely a top 20.

It came down to Gut Slab and Webster in a fight that came right to the last several hundred meters.  But Slab wasn't able to utilize the lap traffic to slingshot himself around the Cracker Jack car and steal a win.

Race 2:

The regulars were working their way to the front when GB got swiped by the 73...

...setting off the first major incident of the race and nearly taking him out.

The next several laps under green were tense at the front with Webster, Smith, Hamilton and Slab in a tight battle pack.  Slab fell back a touch after falling out of line and rose back up just in time to watch Hamilton get wiped out by Kennington.

The 61 spent some time next to the wall but got little damage and missed out on the bigger dog pile.

After the round of pit stops, the field was mixed up.  Tnadz was leading the humans and moving up to 5th when his back end went light out of 4, sending him into the wall.

While keeping his distance, Hamilton caught the treacherous pit road entrance, killing himself and several others.

With 5 to go, Webster had hit the pit stops and was working on winning out with his pit strategy when he got together with Vogel in a battlepack.

Fortunately, the timing of his spin, how he caught the line, and other cars having to pit for fuel, let him pop out a 2nd.  The Bear scored his best finish of the season, staying out of trouble and grabbing 3rd.  Slab ducked out after rising to the lead at one point and Egg left in frustration.  Amazingly enough, Zolecki was able to come back and finish just outside of the top 5.
