2021-1 NASCAR Cup Series - Round 4: Las Vegas

Off to the desert heat of Las Vegas for another fairly exciting string of races.

Race 1:

Things started early with Egg holding his line but those above him not being able to, making contact and running up the track.

This accordianed the field, involving Bear, Gut Slab and Hamilton.

Gut Slab had been sitting well in 3rd, waiting for Tnadz to make a mistake so he could dive down when Harvick poked his nose up the inside, sending the Slab into the wall.  He almost recovered it but came off and nosed into the inside barrier.

A nearly identical scene played out laps later as Zolecki was booted.  While he managed to recover, he was snookered by traffic.

Tnadz had been a cork in the bottle and was ready to take second when a car that had made contact with Kyle Busch who was wrecked by The Bear almost a whole lap earlier was sitting on track.  Tnadz tried to keep it low but touched the apron, unsettling the car and dropping him to 26th, continuing the streak of terrible luck.

But the top order was never in contention as Webster goes on to win it.

Race 2:

The second race saw the humans a little further down the order with Tnadz getting freight trained and eventually just losing it from aero effects.

Zolecki was ready to take the lead of this 14 lap sprint when DiB caught his bumper and sent them both into the wall.

This also caught a few other drivers making for a massive wreck.

A much more difficult race for the humans with some questionable standards.  Webster took 4th and Slab was just outside of points in 21st.

Race 3:

Another 40+ main and Hamilton was up near the top with Zolecki on the pole.

The first yellow happened quickly with The Bear getting taken out by McDowell.

Coming to the yellow, The Egg had a big moment as he threw anchors to avoid hitting Hamilton who had caught the wall and was very slow.  Logano was there to make sure he didn't leave unscathed.

The next altercation was when Gut Slab had a coming together moment.

Tnadz was the next victim, again losing it from aero effects.

Sadly it would cost Webster his race as well.

Before the end of the race, Hamilton would call it quits after damage made his car undrivable.  Unfortunately, it also copped some damage for Slab.

Slab would say "Fuck Kroger" later in the race and send the 42 of Stenhouse Jr up the track.

It was set to be another shootout like Homestead.  3 laps to go and The Egg was ready for a rematch in his Rushed livery.  But it was not to be as Know U 2's Webster lost it in the corner, keeping the fight from playing out.

In the desert we stay as we travel to Phoenix.
