2021-1 NASCAR Cup Series - Round 28: Martinsville

After skipping a week due to a cancelled Charlotte Roval (constant server crash), the tour went to Martinsville for the penultimate round.

Race 1:

The Egg led them to the green flag and it was a close pack in the top 3.

Gut Slab got to work early, taking out Dillon and causing several accidents.

Fortunately he succumbed to his own wrecking before the halfway point.

Back at the front, the fight for the lead was made more interesting with Egg's shaky connection and traffic all happening at the same time.

He managed to regain the lead but it was still very close and dicey.

Even Jamie Z had difficulty running through traffic and Logano got a boop to the wall.

Sadly, this caught up The Bear.

He was then taken out by Chase.

The Egg was having some trouble with traffic himself, getting slowed as Tnadz and Zolecki closed the gap.

After 25 laps, it was very close for the podium as GB made a strong push to the line but The Egg just managed to hold on to victory.

Race 2:

This time around, Tnadz secured the pole and Gut Slab had also joined the fight at the front.

After a couple laps, The Egg tagged the back of Tnadz, running him up the track and allowing JZ and Egg by.

The 3 stayed fighting for several laps with Gut Slab not far behind as the leaders caught traffic.

The Egg had fallen back again but Jamie had a rare mistep while trying to deal with Reddick.

Tnadz went by and Zolecki was under fire from The Egg as they pinballed off each other heading down to turn 1.

Eventually Egg found his way up beside Tnadz and gave him the slide job, sending him back to 3rd yet again.

And it was another dash to the end with the 26 just a car length shy.

Race 3:

The last race saw the 034 on pole with Webster slotting into the 3rd position.

A few laps in and Slab took retirbution on the 8 of Reddick for the first caution.

On the restart, Webster dove low to cover an attempted divebomb by Zolecki but came in too hot and knocked the Egg wide into the wall.

His success was short lived as he was man handled by the Monster Energy car.

The ensuing incident was rather massive.

He was then turned again by Bubba on the next green run.

He then waited even longer to be able to turn back around, even getting knocked on his side temporarily.

It was Jamie at the front leading Tnadz and a charging Slab.

Slab couldn't help his nature and went after Bell, mistaking a prior impact as coming from him.

The next caution was again a Slab-Bell encounter, drawing the race even longer.

The Bear was now fed up with Slab's transgressions and ran him up into the wall, rolling them both.

The Slab survived and went on to attack Harvick.

Late into the race and a challenging Egg was knocked by the 8 of Riddick.

The 8, now having tasted blood, took Harvick for a loop, bringing out the final caution of the race.

The last 6 laps would then be run under yellow as Jamie takes the win and a 2nd for returning Webster.

The finale will run next week at Phoenix.
