Twisted Metal Tour - Grid Iron Division 2015 - 4-6 Michigan Volcano

Some spectacular racing here and some shaking up in the points.  It was unfortunate that Zack came in just at the end of our last race.  But his avatar didn't do too badly and he's still up in the points.  Let's see how the rest of us faired:

Race 1:
I started out at the front with most players towards the rear.

Not that it did much good with the way Scot started things off.

But he wasn't the only one.

And turn one was its typical nastiness.  In fact Chad somehow managed to wreck his invulnerable car.  I'm never unimpressed by the things that man can do.

The Bear managed to get around the worst of it only to get punted and launched.

Not to be outdone by Chad, Scot also took himself out while getting sideswipped by a pitter and later by some other smacks.

By lap 3 I had caught the back half of the field and found Sandy causing trouble.

Shortly after that, Darrel got his first lick and was sent flying.

Lap 5 and Sandy's luck was still running low.  But he didn't mind running me up the track.

By the end, I held on for the win with Darrel not far behind in 8th.

Race 2:
Damage on I was back in the front.  Darrel, Chad and Sandy were sand bagging while Scot was up a little in the field.

Despite the turn one chaos, Chad was cutting the field like butter.

Darrel and Sandy were more conservative and stayed back.  Scot tried the same thing but couldn't avoid a broken car on the track.

Sandy was doing quite well when his teammate took him out.

And I found him just over the crest of a hill while leading the race...

Then Chad took the lead.

With 2 to go, Scot nearly took out Chad while losing control.

But then came back moments later to finish the job.

Despite a daring save, Chad was run afoul again one lap later.

And again...

When we thought there might be a chance I cleared the hill and there he was.  Chad ended up taking a 14th at the end with me right behind him.  Scot and Darrel wound up at 20 and 21.

Race 3:
This time it was The Bear who would lead the pack to the green.

And what a mess he left behind.

He wasn't spared either as he got to close to some Lions.

Scot and Darrel picked clean through the madness and jumped right up the order.

Chad and I were also working the field when he made contact with the Raiders.  He got destroyed but so did Oakland.

Scot was also doing well and pacing just ahead of Darrel when a fumble caused him to take a down.

Darrel then made a pass and wound up in the top 5.

And I took the win.  With help from teammates and bonuses, I boosted a healthy lead.

I will update the stats here soon, maybe before the race tomorrow.  And speaking of, we'll be at the sticky sweet North Carolina Jump.  Get your high grip wrecking on and be prepared for our first wildcard race of the season!  I'll be updating the original rules posting for the series with specifics on how we'll go about the wildcard.
