Twisted Metal 2017 - 6 Feet Under R22-24

Well, we had some issues on race one but managed to get everything going with the full group.  Let's get to one of the first truly oval tracks that doesn't have anything crazy added, just crazy racing.

Race 1:

Because there was no damage, cars were getting stuck in places that broke the game.  Also, I accidentally restarted a race while trying to call a tow.  In the end, we had to shrink the total laps down to 20 and got it all in.  Zack and Darrel held the front row.

To try and be fair, I attempted to take out several cars like I did initially and succeeded.

Darrel was holding first until Zack got a run and knocked him out of the way.  Many threats were issued.

Scot was both giving and receiving throughout the race, finishing about average.  Sandy was in the same boat.

Despite my efforts, I wasn't causing enough issues for Zack.

So I went after his teammates.

Darrel fell through the field and ended up well down the order.

Zack finished 2nd to his Raiders, scoring big points for the race.

Race 2:

Damage: Medium.  Zack at the front, everyone else at the back.  40 laps.

Behind the 21, all hell was breaking loose.

Eventually he caught back up to his friends and things were getting fun.  I had a busted tire so I needed to go get that fixed.

Zack boxed Darrel's ears but didn't push the issue.  Maybe he felt guilty from Race 1?

Well don't feel too guilty after losing it a little later.

Darrel was doing alright but didn't take long to get caught in the madness.

As did Sandy who preferred the bottom.  This isn't it.

Zack tried that method out and avoid dangers on the high side.  It was just as deadly.

I didn't even bother for position and began selective targeting.

I was immediately punished by the swarm.

...over...

...and over...

...and over...

...and even in front of Scot who thought this was a bit much.  Even for him...

Darrel kept rolling along but kept it...rolling?

While Zack was making up places, I was making up positions...to wreck people in front of him.

Alas, I was again punished.

Scot didn't even bother avoiding me at this point.

I kept up my campaign of cue-ball diplomacy.

Zack was not thrilled.

Nor was he when I was again assaulting his team.

Just up ahead of all that, Darrel was dealing with a loose car and spun out yet again.  He then drove backwards to try and turn around and was, of course, DQed.  And Not Dairy Queened.  Although, he would have preferred that to the night he was having.

Once Zack got back into the drive, he still couldn't stay out of trouble.

Yet, we would find each other again.  Not of our choice but it was violent nonetheless.

For Zack, the worst part of the race came from the Jets and their hip-checking frenzy.

This is where he'd end his race and his nice as he had to exit the night to move on to his final basketball game of the season.

I continued running my car into all kinds of stuff.

Sandy was wrapping up his race by mostly avoiding but still getting well into it.

Scot was mostly in good position but not without strife.  Even from his own team.

A rough ride for sure.

And he had a very interesting pit stop from that.  Not sure how this is legal...

Sandy finished as the top human at 11th.

Race 3:

With damage full and laps on 40, we set forth with only three of us.

Sandy and Scot tried to stay out of the initial destruction.

But we couldn't help staying off each other.

It was too close and we were all in it.

Then we were really in it as Scot and I rolled through every dimension, sending parts everywhere.

Scot may have had a chance but Darrel's avatar got him with the death knell.

Sandy then had to shuffle his corpse out of the way.

There were few racers left after the immediate demolitions.  But that didn't stop the remaining teammates from having a war of their own.  The Texans were absolutely crushing the Chiefs.

And it didn't stop there.  The Raiders, a fellow teammate, got caught in the aftermath which ultimately lead to their retirement.

And the Chargers too were nailed by the flailing corpse of the 32, sending them to the wrecker.

Sandy was hopeful with few cars on the track and two of them his cohorts, well up the order.  But, they couldn't help themselves.

The Steelers would go out later after sustaining some serious damage while wrecking the hell out of the 49ers.

Despite his teammates ruining themselves for no reason, Sandy at least finished in the top 10 and earned some much needed points.

We'll have our third Wild Card at GNC Carnival.  And it will be Ross v Darrel at the stunt track.
