Pot Luck 17 - R41-43 Humpty Dumpty

Sandy has picked an exciting Twisted Metal track for the event:  Humpty Dumpty.  Three races at full damage.  30 laps (although the second and third races were reduced to 20).  How'd the field do?

Race 1:

Zack was on the pole but didn't stay the for long as Bueno sent him flying.

Gutron Buster met his end quickly as he came into a pile of cars on the first lap, getting his worst finish of the season.

Gut Slab also had a nasty wreck as Lapenna ran him up on the wall.

Newcomer, Egg, also got swiped into the wall.  His hate for Nunes is fresh a brightly burning like a newly formed star.

Myhr was also a quick casualty getting clipped into the hay.

Hamilton was caught in the same wreck and completely destroyed as Egg joined in.

The Bear pulled a similar maneuver as Buster was in his death throws.

Slab was badly hurt but with a crew unwilling to fix his car, he stuck it out until he was physically removed from the race.

The only humans left were Tnadz and Webster.

Webster managed to pull a top ten with Tnadz topping out at 4th after running the leader into the void.

Race 2:

Round two was dropped to 20 laps because of the excess laps from Race 1.  Zack Webster wasn't messing around and broke away early.

There was a large wreck on lap one but not as many cars out immediately.

Zolecki and Egg were caught up in it but only slowed down, no damage.

As the field spread out, Tnadz and GB found each other and it was game on.

But Buster got caught on the wall more slowing him down than causing damage.

Egg was running well until Serra chucked him into the turn 1 wall.  The shit list grows.

Slab took a different approach to the race as he coasted around the inside, checking out the horses.

Darrel was a victim of Genz sending him into the wall.

While recovering, he came down the track right in front of Buster.  It wouldn't have been a big deal except Nunes appeared out of nowhere in the grass and GB threw the anchors.  That allowed Brito to slam him in the back.

A couple laps later, it was VB taking out GB for the final time.

Tnadz was top 5 when Fraga cut him off in the final corner sending them both to the wall.

That's where Hamilton hit him straight on.  Darrel would end up dying shortly after while Tnadz struggled to pull off a top ten.

Mad Max suffered some massive damage and came to the pits where his crew pretended not to see him.

So he continued on with a smoking engine past Egg who had to park it from damage.

On the final lap, it was a close call between the famous rivals, Webster and The Bear.

But he continued on for his well deserved win.

Race 3: 

Start of Race 3 (also 20 laps) Slab took the pole and took off.

Massive wrecking ensued.

A three-way battle at the front was heating up.

Then the leaders caught the backmarkers.

It was close as they cleared their compatriots.

Tnadz was making his way past Scot when he got a gentle tap.

He would have caught it if not for the jump that sent him into the wall.

Just ahead, Buster caught the wall and spun out as well.

Tnadz was then whipped around by Barrichello.  Yet he still survived!

But then was hit by Jimmenez in turn one.

While damage was minimal at first, he did not survive the freight train that was Webster.

The Bear was also having human-on-human violence going through turn four.

Hamilton also lost it from contact with Lima.

At this point Gut Slab was holding steady in the lead and even Egg was up in the top 15 and hanging in there despite his damage.

Hamilton was again assaulted, this time by Wilson.

The wreck lasted until he was taken out by Brito.

Gurton was wrecked in a similar spot a lap later.

He still kept going and got wrecked again!

Eventually his ride quit after he hit the wall for the last time, killing the motor.

Mad Max also killed it on the wall, just catching the hay at the front stretch.

Bear thought the end of the race was the end of being wrecked but he was wrong as Egg gave him a hasty send off.

That wasn't too bad until Salas crushed him.

Myhr was fogging around the track when he finally got spun by Abreu.  Would that kill him?

Over halfway through and Slab was still first when he just lost the back end going into turn three.

Egg also was having the race turn around on him but he kept going.

Mad Max was once again a victim as his car died and he attempted to take out Max Wilson.

Egg was on the attack when he started taking out any car that was near him.

Webster was working his way back into the top twenty when he nearly was caught in some of this chaos.

By the end, a top 10 was about the best Slab could muster.
