Pot Luck 2019: 14-15 Philip Island

With the end of the series upon us, Zolecki picked a track with a love/hate history that kept up that tradition.  His on-track performance was nill as he was out suffering from flu.  It was mixed results for everyone else.

Race 1:

Webster and The Egg had a ripping start, pulling away from the field early.

But The Egg overcooked it coming into Lukey Heights, sending himself well down the order where he'd barely finish outside the top 10.

Things got wild at the back of the grid as Hamilton lost it coming onto the straight, collecting Myhr in the process.

Gut Slab then had an unusual approach and managed to basically take out three other cars at once.  Hamilton didn't last much longer and was done for the night while Myhr was dead on the spot.

Smith had been catching Webster slowly, lap after lap, when Zack lost a tortured right front coming to the last lap.  Despite speeding in the pits, he held on for second.

Race 2:

The Egg and Ross got a big jump on the start with Zack not far behind.

However, Webster was caught up in some trouble coming to turn 2 which caused trouble for several cars.

Not far up the road, Smith ran wide at Lukey and pulled a 360, letting The Egg vanish into the distance.

In the background, Slab and Myhr were trading blows back and forth.

Halfway into the race, Smith had managed to close the gap and the two leaders were nose to tail coming in for their pits.  But The Egg would get whacked good by The Bear while getting through the stalls.

This set The Egg back but he drove like a man possessed and closed down the gap while Smith tried to conserve.

At Honda, Scot was nearly wrecked as The Egg scrabbled for more track position on the leader.

But with two to go, he ran wide again at Lukey, handing the victory to Ross.
