Shorties 21-23 Myrtle Beach

Certainly an entertaining set of races at Myrtle Beach Night.  Only two more venues remain after this mashup.

Race 1:

The first 25 lap sprint posted four humans at the front with Tnadz and Egg leading the 1,2 row.

After running high, The Egg made a low pass and stuck it just ahead as this was happening...

...Hamilton had drifted too high up the track and came down on the 57, spinning down the track.

The next caution was triggered by Slab running a loose stool down the order.

Just as everyone was going back green, the field checked up and Mad Max was run over, triggering another immediate caution.

Smith had to fend off Parsons and Ingram after reclaiming 2nd from the start.

And not a moment too soon as Gut Slab lost it again with about 5 to go.

This caused the race to finish under yellow with Egg claiming the first victory of the night.

Race 2:

The second 25 lapper started in almost identical fashion only with Darrel missing from the field owing to carpal tunnel issues.

Tnadz overdrove turn two, slowing him enough for The Egg to get a run into first.

Even Webster was looking to make a move early but couldn't quite get the nose planted up the inside.

And several laps later, he lost the back end.

Coming back on the track, he was railed by the 57 and others.

This triggered the largest meatwad log jam of the night.  Slab worthy.

This next caution needs no explanation other than it was right at the end of the race leading to a White-Checkered finish.

 

With Egg in the lead, there was little Tnadz could do to mount an attack with one lap.

Race 3:

 The main event start was, again, identical to the previous race

A few laps in, Tnadz eased back the pace which allowed The Egg to capitalize into the lead.

Webster was also able to make a clean pass and move into 2nd.

The first caution saw the 07 getting vengeance on Mad Max.

The Egg, Zack and Sandy had to go wildly evasive to avoid damage.

The field was divided on pitting although most came in.

The restart with dicey with several lappers and Myhr nearly killed the 13 going into turn one.  

A short time later, Ingram caught the back of the 80.

He attempted to rejoin but darted the end of pit road wall.  At this point, Zack and Tnadz were starting to catch a flagging Egg.

Webster ended up in the back of the field with The Bear while The Egg and Tnadz had to pick through the field like monkeys on lice.

A few white knuckle moments for both drivers over the next couple laps.

Inevitably, The Egg tried to pass too many cars at once.

This lead to a small pyramid of metal.

It also allowed the 24 to close just enough on the 13 to hook the back end and send him down into Neil Bonnet.

The next green was short lived as McDuffie got entangled with Tim Richmond.

Smith and Webster both went evasive to avoid the spinning 70 but Zack only just tagged him, eventually leading to a dead engine.

The next series of green laps were more stretched out with Tnadz triggering the next caution, owing to the 57 unbalancing the car.

Ross mounted a thrilling assault up the order but only managed to reach the penultimate spot on the podium while The Egg took his third win in a row.  The results in all three races were Egg, Tnadz, 1 and 2, Zack with the Heartache.  Big Oof.

Speaking of penultimate things, the second to last track will be Dakota Dirt.
