Race 1:
The 20 lap sprint was underway with humans piled high at the front.
Webster got a big push from Buster to take an early lead.
Hamilton was pushing Tnadz along the outside to challenge for a couple laps when The Egg got down on the 69 of Lee Rogers, right in front of The Bear and The Slab.
Somehow, Egg managed to spin fast enough into the wall that no other trucks were involved.
Although that didn't stop some trucks scrambling back to the line from running over each other.
Back under green, Hamilton had fallen back a touch and was forcing his way back up, staining Sandy's already browned trousers.
Buster managed a run on the straight to the tri oval and slipped low for the pass.
He pulled a similar move on Webster to take the lead.
Just behind, Smith was getting into the 4 of Pete Stevens.
The two started heading towards pit road...
...but Sandy's truck swerved back the other way right into the pack causing a large crash.
He wasn't dead until O' Reagan t-boned him.
Back under green with 5 to go and Hamilton was blocking Zack's run on him aggressively while Gut Slab stayed away, waiting to see who would come out.
But the Doritos ride would be left out in the cold.
Although it wasn't for long as the field accordioned and Webster was leading a charge on the high side.
But his human help was a bit spotty and at one point Slab was slid up the track and caught the wall.
He wasn't hurt and stayed with the front runners. Two to go and Hamilton caught the apron and came up into Dean Tompkins.
Webster could only watch as the 21 truck came off the wall back in front of him.
This was the big one for sure and The Egg, who looked to be down and out, was cruising through the pack and cut up the inside to avoid disaster.
He also managed to miss Webster as he landed. Both drivers would continue on to finish the race in decent points.
As the leaders raced back for the white flag, Buster's competitors couldn't mount a charge to slingshot by and he took the first win of the season.
Race 2:
Double the laps, double the fun as humans dominate the front spots again, minus one.
Early on, Egg and Slab were stuck on the outside and struggled with traffic.
Egg was hung out bad enough he fell back to Zack who was coming from last.
Slab kept rubber-banding around the field but was generally staying up, although it was scary at times.
Lap 10 and something had to go wrong. It was start with Egg trying to judge a pass and, like Darrel in Race 1, caught the apron.
That started things in motion as he and Webster swept by.
Up the track, Hamilton moved high and caught Dixon on the bumper.
Slab slipped by watching the destruction peel away around him like a metal mayhem banana.
Down the order, Zack Webster slowed down for the incoming doom as Mel Gibson rammed him from behind.
And into the pile he went.
And my what a pile.
Racing back, GB was there...
...then he wasn't.
When he rejoined existence, his truck was in the wall earning unwanted damage.
What was left of the field headed to the pits for fuel.
Buster and Slab were contending with the 25 trying to magneto into his pits.
Slab got the worst of it and was looped around.
Then hit by the 99.
And by Lee Rogers.
And the 2.
And nearly blasted again by Rogers if not for the 20 clipping him.
And barely missed from the 99 as he zoomed by.
Buster was having a fun in the pits and decided to check out the safer barriers on exit.
At the restart, Slab and others were left a ways back from the pack.
But at about halfway, they got lucky as Nick White spun the 52 of James Goldstraw.
Back to the pits for what was on the bubble for being the last stop. GB nearly wiped out avoiding Hopkins.
Slab stayed out the first time around to get a bonus point but he also stopped to top off. A strong play.
On the exit, he just barely beat out Buster for another spot.
And GB almost couldn't believe it as they were coming to take the green, not leaving much room.
The Egg attempted one more stop for fuel, tires and repairs as the one-to-go was called.
But with the upped pace, he was left far from the draft at the green.
Despite a little damage, Gurton was at the front and challenging for position.
After another attempt, he was shuffled to the back of the group.
But he would quickly push back to the front with Slab right there as well.
At one point, it looked like Slab and Buster would hook up and make a push to the front.
But Slab ultimately tucked back in, leaving Buster to fend for himself once more.
Things were getting a little dicey and interesting as there was some collusion at almost 200mph.
But it would be heartbreak for the Slab as he tried to pull back in line just as O' Reagan got a run and the Red Bull truck grew wings and flew.
Coming back to the line, Dixon went after his second human coming to the caution, sending Buster to the wall.
With his bloodlust not satiated, he outright spun out Smith.
With the last lap green flag cancelled, Tnadz held the lead over Smith for the win. GB and The Egg settled for top 20 positions but it could have been worse.
Next up, Atlanta.
