Race 1:
The AI weren't proving terribly fast for qualifying again and humans prowled the front with Riggleman at the head.
After a mulligan, it still didn't take long for things to go awry as The Egg was tagged by the 43 as things were shaking out ahead.
He managed to stay up near the wall and avoid a major accident, even when it was 5-wide.
Up the track, Gurton Buster was having less luck as he was pushed around by O'Regan and others.
The aftermath was much messier.
He hadn't taken too many hard licks until the 3 plowed straight into him, head on.
And that sent him right up at Sandy.
Mark then decided that was enough for him and left, surrendering the lead to Gut Slab.
On the restart, Tnadz was closing up and prepping for a fight with the leaders when the 98 of Anthony Hawkins checked up, sending the donuts flying.
The 123 only just missed Kreaming the 13 truck.
After that restart, Zack was working through traffic when he just barely hitched on the back of Mel Collins which caused him to over-rotate out of turn two, straight into the inside barrier.
He magically kept it pointed straight and there was no caution as he fell down the order.
With under 10 to go, Hamilton, Tnadz and Egg were managing to improve positions and were fighting into the top 20.
Suddenly, Tnadz got aero loose and sent up the track.
With nowhere to go, The Egg buried his truck into stopping traffic and also joined the conflagration.
On that restart, Tnadz was swept aside by the Bronie Derp Mail truck.
And finished off by the rest of the pack.
Sandy and Zack came together avoiding the 147 but only enough to throw sparks...something that's bound to happen again before the end of the season.
The Egg came through the wreck with a billowing motor as did GB.
Coming to the line for the last effective race lap, Gut Slab was fighting Mel Collins for position and pushing up the track.
Taking Hawkins with them, all three crammed into the outside wall.
Mark Willis made the pass for the win as Slab came back down into traffic.
He crossed the line, barely in 12th place after such a run to the end. It was nothing if not entertaining to watch.
Race 2:
After a server crash wiped out the first attempt, the race was cut short from 65 to 33 laps and set at 3x to compensate so Darrel wouldn't miss his pit strategy. Again, humans at the front but the field put more effort in on Race 2. They were pushing so much that Mark Willis thought he could just start passing before the line. Although he only just avoided earning a penalty.
Tnadz would have liked to see that as Paul Jones didn't yield and instead caused the 13 to spin, forcing the first caution.
On the restart, Egg, Webster and Buster were in hot competition for the lead and bonus points.
Slab was also making his way out of traffic to the front, making some bold dives through the tri-oval.
But Willis wasn't far behind and got in the mix.
Several laps were posted until Darrel was spun believing he was clear low. He was not.
He had little damage but it was just on the edge of the pit window and the lane was busy.
Gurton had to pull a quick swing maneuver to try and clear the back of Egg and the three humans were right together on exit with Webster on the advantage.
Slab had stayed out to take a point for leading but would start down the order.
On the restart, the three humans were together but a wall separated them and first.
Just before they started to make their way to the front, Webster ran low and either started to lose the end or touched the apron. Either way he was coming up the track.
And it almost looked like he collected himself when the truck pulled violently right, making Buster a passenger on his way to the wall.
The wreck was large and trucks were scrambled everywhere. Slab and Tnadz took to the grass to miss the pile.
Back under green, Slab was working back to the front when Dixon either touched him or was close enough to take all the air off the back right in 4, bringing out another caution.
Not sure what happened here but Egg clearly felt Lee Rogers was at fault for something and let him know.
It would be a sprint to the finish and Egg had a win in his sights.
Slab was back on his own hoping to finish.
Closing in on the end, The Egg made his pass and started to leave them in his dust.
Coming to the white flag, Tnadz was trying to salvage another dumpster-fire of a race when Gruber continually brake-checked him, causing a spin and the final caution.
At that, Egg took his first win of the series at a leisurely pace. Well done.
